Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

Good afternoon! I hope you all are having a lovely day! I wanted to share a quick, easy, healthy, and tasty protein shake recipe with you today. My lovely friend and trainer, Nina, came up with this recipe and I made a few tweaks of my own. If you ever need healthy recipe ideas, Nina is your gal!

I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t really like pumpkin pie until maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Then I tried a homemade one and I was a goner. So. Good! This protein shake isn’t exactly a homemade pumpkin pie, but it is a healthy, sweet treat for when you’re craving the real thing. I like this recipe because it’s gluten-free, can be vegan, and is super simple. Onto the shake!

You’ll need:

  1. One serving vanilla protein powder of your choice- I use Plexus P96, which is gluten-free and vegetarian
  2. 6-8oz milk of your choice- I like the richness of cashew milk or cashew almond blend
  3. 1/2 cup 100% canned pumpkin
  4. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  6. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  7. 1/2 teaspoon Stevia extractย  (you could also use 1 teaspoon packed brown sugar)
  8. 4-5 ice cubes

Optional: 1 teaspoon of Instant Coffee (my fave)ย and a drizzle of honey (omit if vegan)

How to:

Add all of your ingredients to a blender or NutriBullet. Blend to desired consistency. Pour in glass. Drizzle with honey and add a dash of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon to garnish.

Macros: 1 Shake- 175 calories, 3g Fat, 16g Carbs, 18g Protein (Macros are calculated in MyFitnessPal using the exact ingredients I used. Your macros may vary if you use different ingredients.)
